Cookies-Cane Syrup

I acquired some cane syrup and had to find something to make with it.  I had a lot of molasses recipes (Yankee ingredient ;)  )  and thought I'd try a substitution.

Cane Syrup cookies

Ingredients:

3/4c butter, softened
1c sugar
1/4c cane syrup
1 egg
1tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp cloves
1/2tsp nutmeg
1tsp ginger
2tsp baking powder
1/2tsp baking soda
2c AP flour

Directions:

1.  Cream butter, sugar, and cane syrup on medium speed and add egg and spices.  Mix in baking soda, baking powder, and flour on low.
2.  Shape into 1in balls, dip in sugar, and bake @375F for 8-10min.
Yield 6 dozen

Notes:
-Pretty simple cookies.  They'd be great with some kind of dip or frosting too!

The Verdict:
Perfect little bit-sized snack.
